Redeux Energy is seeking a Land Manager to drive and manage greenfield and brownfield land acquisition and diligence within multiple regions of the United States. This person will be a member of Redeux’s growing land acquisition team, responsible for building and converting a land pipeline sufficient to keep pace with Redeux’s GW-scale solar and storage project pipeline objectives. Coordinating with the project development and finance teams, this person will ensure commercial leasing terms are “market,” initiate title commitments, facilitate curative work, and screen local permitting requirements. This person is responsible for land acquisition contracting and title activities, including primary interactions with landowners, in-house counsel, contract land agents, and title firms.

Position Responsibilities:

The Land Manager is a member of the land acquisition team and will execute Redeux’s regional land acquisition strategy and process in targeted markets in the United States.

  • Manage and execute greenfield land acquisition activities to secure site control for utility-scale project development.
  • Refine Redeux’s value propositions to landowners in different land use verticals (e.g., agriculture, timber, brownfield), including participation in land trade shows and marketing collateral development.
  • Coordinate with the project developers to direct in-house land analyst team to identify and qualify land with targeted areas, conduct outreach, and qualify landowner interest.
  • Manage engagements of 3rd party land agencies for boots on the ground support within regions.
  • Identify and cultivate inorganic growth channels leading to land acquisition opportunities from earlier stage developers.
  • Initiate title and curative work on parcels controlled via lease or purchase option.
  • Maintain KPI’s for land opportunity pipeline including efficacy of landowner outreach, conversion, and cycle times to keep pace with the buildout of a multi-GW pipeline of PV, hybrid PV + storage, and standalone storage projects.
  • Work closely with Project Finance and Development teams to validate land acquisition economics and other commercial terms in various energy markets.
  • Travel as needed (~30-50%) to prospecting regions, project areas and conferences to meet with stakeholders.

Qualifications:

Our ideal candidate will have extensive practical experience managing real estate acquisition, land, and title matters, permitting, and community outreach, along with technical acumen in GIS, mapping, and land/lease management software. Experience with land acquisition for large acreage renewable project development, strongly preferred. He or she must be enthusiastic, self-motivated, hands-on, results-oriented, and a team player. Key qualifications as follows:

  • Exceptional oral and written communication skills.
  • Effective team leader and collaborator.
  • Management of opportunity pipeline and related KPIs via use of Land Management and CRM tools.
  • Technical experience using GIS tools to evaluate land, strongly preferred.
  • 4+ years experience negotiating lease and purchase option agreements with farm, timber, cattle, and fossil use landowners; experience with utility-scale solar leasing strongly preferred.
  • 3+ years experience with title and curative matters.
  • Experience with land-related community and local government affairs in support of local use permits.
  • Travel for this role will fluctuate (30-50%).
  • 4-year relevant college degree or work equivalent.
