Battery Energy Storage Project Development
To provide greater reliability and dispatchability, battery energy storage systems (BESS) are increasingly paired with utility-scale, solar installations. As the capital costs of BESS continue to decline with deployment, capacity has tripled in the U.S. in just the past five years. For a 100 MWac solar project, we would typically size a storage system at 25 MWac capacity with a four-hour duration. Sizing will be customized to achieve project objectives.
We develop both solar-paired (hybrid) and standalone energy storage projects for interconnection at either distribution or transmission voltage.
In addition to engineering the projects for interconnection and construction, we secure land and permits, leverage all available financial incentives, and contract or create options for power offtake via bilateral agreements or wholesale market tariffs.
